2010 Liquid Force Rail Jam in Oz

The first stop of the 2010 Liquid Force rail jam kicked off at Cables Wake Park on Saturday the 5th of December.
The Liquid Force Rail Jam series is a new and exciting wakeboard competition open to six categories of Wakeboarders , from Under 13's through to the Pro's, and the competition focuses just on the obstacles. It proves itself to be a season favourite, bringing together all ages, abilities as well as boat and cable wakeboarders. Riders and spectators filled the park, and with over 60 competitors and with the sun shining it was destined to be a good day on and off the water. The brand new cable attracted not only the local riders but many of Australia's top wakeboarders, who provided fun filled non stop action at the Cable park.
Some of the Panthers players even turned out to compete in the event, Luke Lewis, Joel Romelo and Wade Graham, having only been wakeboarding a few weeks, showed their support for the park and the sport in the Amateurs division.
The Pro division saw Sam Collins from Cable Ski Cairns, ride his way to victory landing a huge variety of tricks off all the obstacles, he said "I am stoked to be riding this cable again, I did when I was 13, and now I am back and riding my own pro model, its pretty crazy and can't wait to ride more!! The competition was awesome, with heaps of competitors and spectators, I am looking forward to riding at the next stop here!" Dean Smith was second and Matty Denitis 3rd.
The Women's Pro winner was Sydney local Hayley Smith, who showed off her prowess and riding ability, as well as going just as big as some of the guys!! Another Sydney local Amber Wing, came a close second in the Pro Womens division. Sophie Hogben came in third place.
Not only were the Pro's showing how it's done but the under 13's and under 17's showed how much wakeboarding on the cable is progressing and how much these young kids are pushing themselves every day. In the U13 boys, Tony Icconi stormed his was to victory landing KGB's off the kicker and massive hoochie glides, this kid is one to watch. It was Cairns cable's Sam Gunn who won the Under 17 division with Matty Hasler in second. Sam threw down an awesome pass with a crow mobe 5 and toeside 900.
In the wakeskate category, Macye Dipple from Bli Bli cable park won the top spot throwing down kick flips and a variety of rail and kicker trips.
